OER (Open Educational Resources )

One fundamental reason that makes OER so attractive is its interest in serving the world by sharing the academic recourses worldwide. It provides material in public domain; for free.

It is a great valuable tool for learners and educators finding needed resources, as well as, all sorts of training materials and tools for teachers. People who are interested in distant education or do researches consider these places as the biggest support in their education.

Despite the fact that it doesn't give any license or a certificate of graduation however it still suggests the same courses that institutions usually do not like marketing outside of their walls, for free. So if someone truly interested in getting the knowledge this would be the place for him.

This is another evidence that the world is flat and education is happening beyond the school walls.

If the teacher doesn't keep up with all these updates and share the information his role will gradually fade out and eventually will disappear.

The podcast session by Green brought a great point about one of the OER policies. The fact that they allow people to adapt, create was interesting way to make their website prosper. One example he brought was how some of the users translated their material into Portuguese. So now they have their product in Portuguese which would be useful for Portuguese students. 

I think I need more exploration in these sources to understand how to implement them in my work. 

I am slightly familiar with Khan Academy which allows teachers to create their classroom right in the web and use all the teaching materials. It also has a vast variety of materials for students who want to study biology history, math etc. It's really a great place to be.

Heaven for education addicts. It also allows teachers volunteers to modify add  adapt the material making it better and perfect learning environment. 

Learner is reliable for his own learning process and the material credibility has to be checked by the learners. Credibility is at risk here if we can trust anyone we don't know to come and change things.
